Latino hip hop pioneers Cypress Hill exploded onto the music scene in the early ‘90s with a brash, aggressive, street-smart brand of West coast rap that marked the first major crossover success of the Latin rap genre.  The group was founded about a decade prior by 4 young hoods, B Real, Sen Dog, DJ Muggs and Mellow Man Ace, who grew up together in the predominantly Latino neighborhood of Southgate in South Central Los Angeles.  Though Mellow would leave the group just a few years after its founding, the remaining three pressed on, honing their lyrical and musical skills until the world was ready for Cypress Hill’s entrance.  Over the course of 7 tripped-out, THC-laced stacks of wax and two decades, Cypress Hill carved their legend into the hardcore rap soundscape.  Their immense stature in the hip hop community has allowed B, Sen and Muggs the creative freedom to explore multiple creative outlets, whether it be fully formed side-projects like Sen Dog’s punishing rap-metal hybrid SX-10, re-uniting with Mellow Man on cuts from his critically acclaimed solo album From The Darkness Into The Light or crucial contributions to the music of L.A.-based hip hop crew V & Legacy.  Cypress Thrill brings together all of the best moments from those Hill-side collaborations on one incredible disc that is an essential addition to the collection of any Latin rap or Cypress Hill fan.  Enjoy!
